Criminal Background Checks for Those Around Our Children

It still amazes me just how many organizations that work with our children that do not conduct criminal background checks on the people who have direct contact with those kids during activities that are supposed to be safe and fun. Many officials at sporting events in many states are checked out before hitting the field with our kids and this is one group of adults who in the eyes of a child has authority and they place lots of trust in these adults. As parents we need to ensure that these organizations are conducting these background checks on the criminal records of those who have contact with our children.
