Conducting Background Checks on School Volunteers

Many schools are now starting to conduct criminal background checks on the volunteers who work with the children through various programs. For many years it has been standard for schools to these background checks on employees of the school, but now they are starting to include those who do not work for the school but simply volunteer. Many schools do not like the idea of turning away potential volunteers and many do not have enough as it is. But for the safety of the children these criminal background checks are important to ensure that anyone with ill intentions do not get close contact with the kids.
