One shocking place that many individuals are surprised to find out that not all employees are thoroughly screened before hiring is the library. Many communities do not think to, have no budget for, and do not have laws requiring these positions be checked in a pre-employment screening before they are hired. This is extremely disturbing since a library should be a safe place for children to learn and explore.
