Avoiding Hiring Those Who Abuse Prescription Medications

Not all companies perform drug testing as part of their pre-employment screening process. Many of these employers feel they can spot a “druggie” by appearance and save themselves the trouble of hiring a person who is dependant on drugs. They are aware of the costs that occur if such a person gets on the payroll from things such as workplace accidents, missed work, theft, and more. Yet they feel that the person who takes drugs is always easy to spot visually and this is not the case. There are millions of Americans who are currently abusing prescription medications and though these drugs are technically legal the same problems arise from the abuse of them as they do with illegal drugs. Yet these people are not so easy to spot visually, any business owner should protect their company by actually implementing drug screening in their facility.
