Using Criminals Background Check Results

Employers will vary on how they choose to handle the results of the criminal background checks in which they run on their applicants. Some employers are willing to accept certain crimes an applicant may have committed as long as it has been some time ago. While other companies will not tolerate someone with a criminal history what so ever. To some degree the position being filled will determine whether someone with a conviction will get hired. A daycare of course will not hire someone with a sexual misconduct in their past. A financial institution will not want a employee with a criminal history of fraud. Other cases are not as clear-cut since good people do make mistakes on occasion. The best plan of action for any company is to create a written policy on what is and is not acceptable before any applicants are even being considered.
