Mistruths on Resumes
It is sadly becoming more and more acceptable in the eyes of the public for applicants to exaggerate or flat out lie on their resumes to potential employers. It has even been revealed that a former winner of the hit TV show “The Apprentice” had lied regarding the amount of time he spent at a university, and nobody was bothered by this. For an employer these mistruths can lead to hiring the wrong candidate for the job and the lost money and time from this hire not working out for the company. If more employers would aggressively use pre-employment screenings on their applicants than maybe the falsehoods on resumes would begin to decrease.
