Criminal Background Checks at Schools

Most all schools now run criminal background checks on the applicants in order to keep the children in the district safe from pedophiles. For the most part this is an effective strategy to fill these jobs with those who truly want to help the children and have no ill intentions. Of course there is a catch to this strategy, those who have not been convicted of a crime will slip through the cracks and potentially get hired. A clean background check does not mean a crime free applicant necessarily; maybe they just have not been caught yet. Employers should conduct thorough pre-employment screenings to try and fill these cracks to keep these individuals from being hired into their district.
