If your child rides the bus to his or her school every morning, how much do you and the school district know about the person who is behind the wheel? Most districts implement criminal background checks as well as checks on the driving records of those who they hire to operate the school buses. Yet, how often does your district re-run these checks on their drivers? As parents we should encourage districts to run these background checks frequently on all drivers to ensure that they are still a good choice for the job of driving our most precious resources to school.
