Deciding Who to Run Background Checks On When Hiring
Many employers want to conduct background checks on their applicants, but they sometimes consider so many applications it is hard to run pre-employment screenings on all of them and it still remain cost effective. One strategy that can be used is to weed out as many of the candidates as possible with each step and little legwork. One easy way to do this is to call the past employers and references on the application and resume just to confirm dates, tasks performed, and more. Any discrepancies should raise red flags concerning this applicant and help you in the process of deciding the final set of applicants to seriously consider for a position.
