Concerns for Applicants regarding Background Checks

One concern many applicants have regarding pre-employment screenings conducted on them in the hiring process is the potential for employers to dig up information that is not relevant to the position available. Of course an employer must have any applicant sign a consent form to conduct any background checks, and any applicant refuse to sign. But that applicant understands that by not signing they will in all probability not be hired for the available position. Once an applicant gives consent the employer has the permission needed to look into many aspects of the applicant’s life including criminal records, driving records, and even credit reports. At this time once an applicant gives permission for a search there is only minimum laws to cover these searches and these are on a state by state basis.
